I own close to 3 acres, much of which is woods that I need to work on clearing and improving. Also about a 300 foot driveway to plow in the winter. Not worried about mowing as I have a JD X500 for that.

Looking for practical advice on selecting one over the other. Specs are in the ballpark although the Yanmar looks like a bit more tractor for the money.

Pricing is close between the two. One dealer is is about 30 minutes away and the other is about an hour. Might be a little bit of an issue in terms of service but both are reputable dealers.

I would appreciate any thoughts anyone might provide.

Based on what you described, I would choose the Yanmar. If nothing else for what appears better ground clearance. I would also suggest a quick attach FEL bucket and a set of forks.

It is nice to have a separate mower as you described.

You will enjoy the work you will be able to accomplish with either unit. Enjoy!

Btw, welcome to the forum. If you do not get many responses you may want to post a similar question in the buying/pricing forum.

Really depends on what you plan to do with the tractor. I don't see where tractors this small are effective dealing with larger trees and stumps. I would recommend you at least consider a larger used backhoe for the heavy work that you can sell when the clearing is done. In most cases if you buy a used tractor and take care of it you will get your money back after the project is done. A small tractor or tlb such as the Yanmar, Deere or other brands would be good for the finish work and maintenance. And the new tractor won't be all scratched up or damaged.

If you are steadfast on buying a small tlb I suggest you look at the Kubota units as they are very good machines in this size. Having a separate mower is the best way to go and the x500 should cover you fine for that part. One of the nice things about the 1025 or 1026 tlb is the drive over mower deck, but you have that covered already. Kubota does not offer that yet but does have a very sturdy small tlb.
