Buying Advice John Deere '04 X495 2WD w/ 62" deck- Good deal?

Hi all. Just joined this forum, so my apologies if I'm doing this wrong or if this has been covered ad nauseum before...

I have the opportunity to buy an '04 JD X495, 2wd, 62" deck w/ 1167hrs. Runs like a top. Transmission is smooth. No leaks. Minor cosmetic issues. Alternator charges at approx 15v. Dealer took as a trade. Is this a good deal?

Tractor, thanks for pointing out my obvious error.

They are asking $4700. Good tires. Dealer took it on a trade-in. I believe one owner. Not sure maint history.

I had a X495 AWS with the 62" deck. It was a fantastic tractor. I am not sure of the price but the hours would not bother me at all.

I'm no expert on the prices of those garden tractors, but that seems high to me.

1,167 hours isn't much on a Yanmar diesel engine if it has been maintained properly. But that's also 1,167 hours on the rest of the tractor, such as the deck spindles and bearings, pto clutch, etc. I'd check all the deck components to see how much wear, dings, rust, etc. there may be.

Thank you Pappy for the insight. I have the tractor for the weekend as a demo. Cut with it on Thurs. Everything seems solid, but I will definitely check under the spindle and pulley covers. The PTO seemed to engage very smoothly with no odd noises. Deck is in pretty good shape otherwise- no obvious rust.
