john deer 100 series
I need to disable the seat safety switch to do a diagnostic check on firing system. Can someone help please? Also if someone can guide me in the right direction. Girlfriend was using the mower when it suddenly quit running. I am assuming it is s firing issue. Any ideas?

Gee, a girlfriend who will mow lawn. :)

Not sure how you are jumping to the "firing issue" conclusion, but the seat switch shouldn't be hard to figure out. Fix it so "it" thinks someone is in the seat.
I just use a jumper wire in the connector.

Cement block works great, my lt160 has three safety switches, pto, seat and the brake. Could be any of them.

Most 100 series will run with the pto switch off and the parking brake set.

Genius :drink:

Sorry, I don't buy the idea of disconnecting the seat safety switch for engine diagnostics. The rio switch can be jumpered easily to allow for reverse when mowing but if you fall off the seat the mower needs to stop completely.

Just my opinion.

Solder in a jumper into the seat switch wiring, or jam a pice of wood... depending where the swich is located.
