3-point hitch stuck at the top

took the rockshaft control valve out and cleaned it but it did not look dirty. put it back on and it worked until it was raised to the highest level then it relocked again

I am dumbfounded and can't pay 800.00 for a new valve

Anyone have any ideas

Possibly an adjustment to the "top stop" feedback?

Did it work normally before it happened the first time?

Yes it moved up and down but just before it stopped it was a little jerky for about an hour. Some times not raising all the way up like it was sticking.
