Jinma224 Rear Axle Grease?

Hello Forum,

Does anyone know how much grease it takes for the 2 Grease fittings on the rear axle on a Jinma224?

When the rear axle gets full of grease, will there be a noticeable change in the pumping pressure at the grease gun handle?

I don't want to blow a seal by putting in too much grease.

Not more than a few ounces really. Cuz you're not actually greasing the axle, you're greasing the bearing that supports the outside end of the axle. Your bearing (154) and seals (155) fit into the bearing cover (156). The seals are backed up by washer (121). You can't see it on the diagram, but the zerk is on the other side of the bearing cover. So excess grease should technically only occupy what little open space remains between the zerk and the seals.

I pumped a few times into each zerk fitting, but didn't feel any hard resistance, so i stopped. Took out one of the fittings to see if there was any grease pressure, and none came back out, so maybe I didn't blow a seal. I hope not anyway.

Do you have any idea how large that grease cavity is?

Never had them off my Jinmas, so all I would have to go by is the same exploded diagram you see above. Like I said, can't be more than a few ounces. Take a look at the bearing cover - what you see, is about all it will hold.

Matter of fact, the wheel won't fall off if you simply remove the bearing cover. Take it off and see for yourself. Once you know positively it's full, there'll hopefully be less second guessing in the future. Maybe even wash and repack the bearings while you're in there.
