I have a Nortrack 2454. I understand it is actually a Jinma. The tractor runs fine in low range but will not shift into hi range. Took the cover off and can not see anything unusual. Forks are good it just seems that it dosen't go far enough forward to engage. When you shift into hi it is in neutral and if you push forward on the lever it makes a grinding sound. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Since you have had it apart and dont see anything suspect, I would contact Tommy at Affordable Tractor Sales and run it by him. I doubt there is anything he hasn't yet seen with Jinma tractors.

Is it possible that the splint ring in front of the big gear could have expanded and is keeping the gear from going forward? That is the only thing we can see without spliting the tractor.
