I've posted down below on the lift box removal and lift cylinder oring replacement. Well, that was a great idea, but, didn't help. I'm not getting any lift power (3 point won't fully raise when hot, it'll raise just fine when cold) exact same problem. What weight/type of oil do you guys run down in the desert and hot portions of the US. I'm at the moment using good ol' Walmart Universal tractor fluid (UTF). What's a better choice? several years ago I installed a remote valve with the power beyound ports to be able to use the 3 point lift as well as the remote and really haven't experience any problems until this summer. With that thought in mind has any one installed a auxillary hydraulic oil cooler on their tractors maybe some kind of loop using the return from the 3 point? My hoses are #6 (3/8") size, maybe to small, I dunno? I'm in the middle of Hay season and do use the crap out of the tractor mowing, raking and baling. Thanks ahead, for any kind of input. bjr

I understand that UTF is NOT recommended for these tractors under any conditions. For hot climates most folks will use ISO AW46 hydraulic oil. I use (and highly recommend) a multi-vis hydraulic oil ISO AW 32/46/68. It's good for extremes in both directions, and it reduces my inventory. I use it in all my equipment.

The 3/8" hose sizes are fine.

A hydraulic oil cooler would be very desirable. It could be mounted in front of the radiator in order to get some air flow across the tubes if the radiator has enough reserve capacity, otherwise it will need it's own fan.

I was just over in Kennewick last Sunday. I learned real quick not to touch door knobs without gloves on. HOT!

Well I finally made a decision and went with the Lucas Hydraulic booster and stop leak. Put a quart in and well see what happens. The tractor is 13 yrs old and I had just filled with the Walmart UTF. It's probably a thickner additive and I'm okay with that if it will just make the 3 point raise fully when it's hot. I'll report back as soon as I connect the mower or the rake or the tiller. bjr
