I have a 2003 FarmPro with a front end loader. I have built a small 3pt backhoe to use on it but I need to know if the loader control valve is open center, power beyond or something else. I could probably use a power beyond valve on the hoe and then to the loader. Anyone have any ideas?

How many hoses are connected to the loader valve.

Does the tractor have 3 point hitch?

Suspect open center system but answers to above questions should provide a more definitive response

The loader valve has 6 hoses and no extra ports. 2 hoses go to the pump and sump, the other 4 hoses go to the FEL cylinders. This tractor does have a 3 point hitch.

6 hoses would indicate no power beyond on the FEL valve.

Typically these smaller tractors the flow goes to the FEL and to 3 point via power beyond but that requires 7 hoses on the FEL valve

Is there two separate pumps one for FEL and the other for 3 point?

Can you raise the FEL and 3 point at the same time? If yes that would point towards two separate circuits / pumps.

If the loader is removed the pressure line and return line must be connected together or the pump will deadhead. I think for this reason I have an open center valve. I would like to use a power beyond valve on the backhoe go thru the hoe first the from the power beyond to the loader valve then to the sump. Would this work?

if you run flow to the backhoe first make sure that there is relief valve either on the tractor before the hoe valve or one in the hoe valve.

There are different configurations but I believe they are all open center, no power beyond. Some jinmas have two hydraulic pumps.

Most people seem to use a pto mount pump for the backhoe. I think it's because the internal pump doesn't have enough flow. Some Jinmas have a mounting on the pto gearbox for a backhoe pump.

Has anyone used a crimper like the one in the picture to crimp a hydraulic hose for an attachment on a tractor. 2500 psi hose.

Just had a hose end blow off @ around 2500 psi. Lost 4+ gallons of fluid in about 10 seconds. Local hardware store crimped it. Took it to a real hydraulic shop and they said it was crimped incorrectly. It was quite exciting. Now I pay attention to where a hose is going to go if it comes loose!
