Hello All,
I am trying to get my clutch adjusted on my Jinma 304 and can mostly find procedures for the 354,
WHAT exactly are the differences?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Same basic tractor, most likely to include the clutch. Main difference is horsepower. In some cases it's just a matter of how the engine is configured, in other cases it might be a 3 cylinder instead of a 4. So maintenance manuals on a 354 should be generally applicable to a 304. Expect possibly a different engine manual though.

I think Greg is right. The same running gear and different engine.

As far as I can tell, the only real difference between a 304 and 354 are 5 horse power. (exact same engine) in the past there was the 3 cylinder TY395 engine. The injector settings are what made that engine a 30 horse or 35 horse. Importers would charge $$ for a 30 horse and $$$ for a 35 horse. All the factory did was install or adjust the injector pump for 30 or 35 horse.

Those 5 extra ponies come from the top end RPM, which is a simple matter of setting the throttle stop on the injector pump. A 304 top end RPM is 2000 and a 354 top end is 2300 RPM. On either configuration you could never tell the difference in power at or below 2000 RPM.

What is the exact model# on your engine? TY395E-1, TY395-E2, or TY395-E3
What is your top end RPM ?

Hi Larry, and thanks all for your help,
My top RPM, Where the Red Line is anyway on my Tach, is 2000, however, it will not make over 1800 RPM's since new!
I have a 3 Cylinder motor, I think an E-1 (don't quote me though)
I am going to try and adjust the clutch this Weekend, I do not think I have a problem, just want to check

Thanks again all,
Rick
