jinma 304
I have a 2005 jinma 304. It seems that i have a single stage clutch withought realy knowing what i am looking at but all the manuals and instructionals i have found show the Access panel on the left side. Mine is on the right. Is there not supposed to be a way to disengage and engage the pto other than the lever itself. (for eksample via the clutch)

Try using the lever and clutch together.

After scratching my head for a whil i figured it out. I have a 2 stage clutch but there was absolutly no movement on the 2 stage. Some adjustments and vuala. Now it Works as it should. The main clutch slipps a little when yoe release the clutch pedal, but i think the problem there is a slightly worn clutch plate. Unless someone knows differently.

Was the main clutch working ok(not slipping) before? Is the throw-out bearing sliding back far enough to completely disengage the lift fingers/levers on the clutch pack?

What I am getting at is that you may have adjusted the wrong thing, and you are going to kill your main clutch disc... There MUST be about 1/8" of gap between throw-out bearing and clutch fingers with your foot off the pedal. If the fingers are in contact/hanging on the throw-out bearing, you are not allowing full main pressure on the disc. This will also wear out the throw-out bearing...

The throw-out slides forward that 1/8"(pedal free travel) and pushes on the levers and lifts the main pressure plate. This relationship should result in a completely dis-engaged/released main disc by about 1/2 of your pedal travel.

The main pressure plate in turn lifts the PTO pressure plate to completely release it by the time the pedal is all the way down. If that 1/8" gap won't allow you to disengage the PTO disc, then you need to adjust the 3 bolts that control the relationship between the main and PTO plates.

Setup this way, you can have a PTO implement like a mower running at speed while you shift gears using only half of the clutch pedal travel... Here is a link to Johns jinma website and a clutch adjust procedure. Great pics showing the adjustment points. JMClutchAdj
