Backhoe Jinma 284 / YW-6 Backhoe question

When attaching a frame mount backhoe, what is the correct way to attach the backhoe frame at the rear of the tractor?

It looks like the two backhoe brackets slip over the two large lower three point hitch pins.

Should I use the pins or should I remove them and bolt the brackets in place using the hitch pin threads?

I just slide the plates over the pins and bolt them to the backhoe subframe. I think the pins are plenty strong for the application. You will find weaker points on the hoe subframe, such as where the slots are cut for those two triangular plates to attach to the subframe.

Also watch for the 6 bolts that attach the hoe to the subframe to loosen up.

I've already strengthened the frame with square tubing welded to the bottom of the hoe frame. I'll keep an eye on the bolts.

Thanks for the info, I hooked up the backhoe today for the first time and everything works!

Controls are bit jerky as expected.


Now to work on fixing that!

Be careful with the Jinma backhoe subframe. If they have not changed the design recently, the long rod that attaches the subframe to the loader brackets acts like a hinge just under the bellhousing. a heavy backhoe on the back and a loaded bucket on the front really tries to lift the bellhousing off the ground at that hinge point. dont use excessive ground speed with the backhoe on bumpy ground on to minimize the bouncing effect. The only Jinma tractors I recall hearing about with cracked bell housings were with this setup. Also some of the early subframes would flex and fatigue, casing the backhoe to fall off, sometimes into the hole the operator was digging. Many have reinforced their subframes by welding on some heavy flat bar down the sides.

Thank you for the great info. I do keep things slow when I'm using the loader and I have reinforced the backhoe frame with square tubing under the mounting slots.

I'm glad you mentioned the broken bellhousing problem as I had forgotten about that.
