Anyone know how to remove the front 4wd coupling on a Jinma 284? I drove out the roll pin and assumed it was a "slip fit", but I have tried to aggressively tap it off and no joy. Is this a press fit?
Thanks in advance...

I've got a kama 354 which is almost the same tractor. I broke the ring gear in the hoghead using it for a bulldozer. Mine didn't have a roll pin. It had a bolt in the coupling at the end. Once I took the bolt out the coupling would slide back to get it off. I'm pretty sure yours will also. It's just rusted stuck.

Thanks Dwayne for keeping me on the right track. After too much effort, I finally figured out that there was still a roll pin in the coupling. I had removed the roll pin, but..go figure.. there was a roll pin inside a roll pin. When I drove out the first one, I didn't see the second outer pin due to the grease and crud. One I figured that out, the coupling slipped off easily. Duh.:confused3:

Like I said, my Chinese tractor had a grade 5 bolt in it. You could probably go back with a bolt as long as it fits snug. That way it's a lot easier if you ever need to remove it again.

I went back with a single roll pin and should have no issues. I also deleted the ball bearings and replaced them with "slugs" I made from an 8.8 bolt. Hopefully they will out perform the bearings that continually drop out and chew up the coupling. Thanks again.
