Hi guys,

New to the forum. I have a Jinma 224 with seperate gauges. Tachomoeter face broke off. Anyone find a domestic equivalent?

Thanks,

There's an aftermarket tach at JMParts, but you won't like the pricetag.

Tommy,

I looked on your site but that is not my tach. Mine is JUST a tach. Has seperate hour meter.

//greg//, that's a OEM at JMparts not a aftermarket TM-01
Hmmmm, we're clearly not lookin' at the same thing.....Rich said his 224 has separate gauges. The only standalone tach I see at JMParts is the $210 Tachometer TM-01

That is the tach my 254/284 has from the factory. It has the hour meter built in it.

The image is the one Tommy aslo has on his website. Mine Tach only has the tachometer. Again the hour meter is seperate. At work so I can't get a photo.

Well my point was that the tachs on JM Parts & My website are not aftermarket they are OEM,

At one time I had some without the hour meter but have not been able to get any more,they all have the hour meter in them which will still work as a replacement for you for a tach,

Do you know the wire pinouts for the back of it?. Believe I now have 4 connections. Sound right? With the hour meter would there be more?

Hmmm, ok - I'm definitely behind the power curve on that one then. Cuz neither of my JM254s (individual gauges) had a tach that looked like that, and I'm sure (at the time) that a replacement was nowhere near $210. Perhaps Rural King spec'd a more basic tach on the ones they imported. But considering that's more than half the cost of an entire cluster panel, the justification for that kind of price tag escapes me.

You are correct about the price,but you referenced them for the source for the replacement.Not sure what yours had, when we started selling these tractors in 2002 they had this tach.If there is a different one from earlier models I would like to see what they looked like,if anyone has one please send me a pic

Yes, more connection points if it had an integral hour meter. You probably only need 3 of the 4, unless there's actually a light bulb. That's where the common red wire would go, if the gauges had bulbs that is. The other three may be marked as S/G/K. S & G connect to the sending unit down at the bell housing. K is the 12v source, tapped into one of the rear lighting wires I think.
