Steve, looking at your photo made me think about what happened a few weeks ago. We have been sharing a lot of veggies with one of our neighbors who has land close by, but only comes on weekends. He stopped by one day and dropped off 6 cases of 1-pint canning jars. They had them in a garage sale, but could not sell them for $2.50 a case. We tried to pay him for them, but he would not take a cent.

I'll just bet your sauce and salsa are delicious. I think what my wife makes is the best I ever tasted.

Jim come on now, the deal is he wants you to fill them and give him half of them.....................

This "horse" ain't dead yet. I'm still ridin' it.

Just a couple of pictures of today's tomato pickin'. Those Porter tomatoes don't stop until they get hit by a hard freeze. We're picking the other tomatoes pretty green to keep the bugs from getting them before we do. Check out the hungry critter in the second photo.

Jim, try hauling a couple of those critters down to Eddie's and fry it up with the okra, see who gets the surprise!!! I mowed my garden off this morning, still have a cherry tomato growing but it isn't doing much with the cooler temps. Waiting for spring now to start the process all over again.

Yeah! But you have to make sure the bottom of your shoe is cleaned off before you walk into the house.

Yeah. And you have to be careful about crushing them with a rock or stick. They do have a tendency to squirt.
My garden is all in except for my okra. When it started looking pretty bad in late Aug, I cut it off 6"-12" from the ground. It immediately started growing back from the stubs and now it is back producing almost like it did early in the season.
Grandkids picked my pumpkins a couple weeks ago. They love that but they ripened early this year.

Jim normally we pull those babies off the mater plants and stick them on a fishing hook. With the bass in our pond the life expectancy of the critter is mere seconds. Is that considered recycling?

i need to post some pics of our tomatos..... still going strong at the end of OCT!

we also replated a section of the garden.... some fall lettuce, and greenbeens....oh and when i tilled up the section were the cukes were planted, they decieded to come back volinteer... so we have fall cukes also
