Well.......a little sad this morning....a dear friend.....Jim Beam.....is moving ownership to Japan.....least it ain't China!

Bourbon is experiencing a resurgent world wide. I see this as only helping..

Stockholders only care about making money... the whole reason they buy stock to begin with. They don't let patriotism or emotions sway their vote. They will vote for what they feel will make them the most money.

It will still be Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. I think Japanese ownership will only help in its marketing and improve the value of the brand. Jim Beam has always been a good, median quality bourbon. I became fond of it in one military service club that used Beam as the bar bourbon.

Jim Beam has been my Bourbon of choice for decades. I could never develop a taste for Jack, despite every one of my buddies preferring it. I'm learning Maker's Mark is pretty good, too, but I will always have a bottle of Beam in the cabinet.

Jim Beam was my off duty fuel in the USAF in the early 70s. Those were the days.
