Jerky lifting 3 pt hitch- DK40SE

I also have very jerky action when lowering or raising on my CK30H. It feels like the linkage sticks and then when you apply enough force to the position control lever get it to move, why then it jumps. The lever is not smooth in operation at all. I notice the lever moves a rod which moves a lever which is attached to what is called "the hydraulic control system 1 group" in the parts manual. The exploded view shows that it has a band type clutch and what appears to be a bolt and a spring to adjust the tension on the clutch. The workshop manual makes no mention of adjustment. Does anybody know anything about this?

still sounds very similar to the MLS valve issue I had when my dkse tractor was new. Inside the MLS valve itself was a needle valve where the needle had been installed sidways, obviously hindering proper seating of the valve. 3pt bounced all over the place when trying to actuate. at any rate, try opening or closing the throttle on your MLS valve and see if it makes any difference. There are adjustments that can be made on the MLS itself, but its a good idea to troubleshoot some easy things before you dive into that.

New tractor? how many hours? Has the 3pt been used before?

tractor new in 2005. 650 hours. The 3 point does not bounce. It's the lever that has too much stiction. And actually it's not the position control lever because today the clip holding the lever to the rod came off thus separating the two and the position control lever pivots just fine and the rod swivels on the lever on the other end too. Tractor used to grade the drive & bush hog so the three point is used all the time.

The MLS valve, that's the valve that controls the three point rate of drop, right?
