Definately 6ft... The amount of hangover on the sides will allow you to get next to the house, fences etc...

The landscape rake, I'd go 8ft unless you have a reason not to, narrow area or some such... With an 8ft, you could angle it and still have enough width to cover the tread width.

I agree. I took a look at the boxblade this weekend. Too small. I will upgrade that a bit. The dealer has my 300CX loader in house and the tires are being loaded as of today. I hope to have the tractor by next week.

I checked the specs on the Deere 8B backhoe vs. the Woods BH80-X . The woods specs are impressive. It has a slightly shorter reach than the 8B (6 inches less) but in most specs that matter it is a stronger backhoe with a more modern design. Anyone out there with some experience with these new Woods models? Expected Price?

Keep in mind that the 8B relieves at 2200 psi and the 990 develops 2260 psi. Make sure that the Woods specs are for the same hydraulic pressure.

Just when I thought I had a handle on things. Look at these specs and tell me what you think. This is for the Woods BH80-X. Good or Bad?

Relief pressure 2470 psi
Bucket digging force 3780 lbs
Dipperstick digging force 2480 lbs

I did not worry about specs, since I did not have power beyond, I got the pto pump. I heard about the 60x here but not the new larger models til now, just downloaded the brochure.

the 80x sounds heads and shoulder above my 7500 and I think mine works great.

My SFIL has the 8B on his 990 he hates the hookup (though I have not seen it in operation) The 8b seems like it was built in somebody's garage (I'll catch hexx for that).

picture is a fresh cut ash, 24"caliper 4 hours work to git-r-done

The Woods backhoe forces running at 990 pressures would be 3458 and 2270.

The 8B forces are 3389 and 2213; still a bit less than the Woods.

Hi Gizmo,

I went to the dealer yesterday to visit it. I say visit because I am waiting for the brackets for the canopy to arrive. I am trying to be patient but its not working well. I think I will ask them to deliver it this weekend. I can pop that canopy on myself later. Thanks for all the backhoe info. I got the 7ft rake for now.

The one good thing about the extra wait is the financing changed since I ordered it. I can resubmit my application for the 36/0% financing.
