john deere 720 diesel
I have a 720 with a starting engine I'm getting coolant in the diesel engine crankcase
Wondering how to find out if it's coming from the pony eng. or the diesel. How do I
know if the waterpump on the pony is leaking internally?

How much coolant? I'm going to guess it is more likely a head gasket on the diesel.

My 720 has been converted to electric start, but looking at the parts book it would be feasible for a leaking shaft seal on the point motor water pump to allow coolant into the crankcase. I would pull the pony water pump and pressure test it for leaks.
