Just hooked my new grapple for the first time, and am wondering if the rear remote which is powering the grapple lids is always slower than the rest of the hydraulic functions on the tractor. The FEL and the draft arms on the 3-point are very responsive, but the remote seems really laggy. Someone told me today that if the draft arms are lifted all the way up (which they were with my carry all on the rear for weight), then the remote can sometime be very draggy. I have been at work all day, and haven't tested that theory yet, but it may help. The other thing is whether or not the air was sufficiently purged... I didn't know how long that would take

Simplest thing to do if tractor is equipped with deluxe scv is determine if flow control valve on scv is set in "rabbit position". How many hrs of use since hyd filter was changed & suction screen checked/cleaned? Has hyd stand-by pressure ever been checked? Stand-by pressure should be 2250 psi. If scv is slow due to 3 pt being fully raised then either 3 pt control valve seals are leaking or L/D control linkage isn't adjusted correctly. Look in hyd filler hole behind seat for moving/spraying oil. JD utility tractor tech manual has several 3 pt control adjustment steps that must be performed in correct order to properly adjust control linkages.

I concur with TxJim's first suggestion, the setting of the flow on the SCV is turned down.
