JD X580 mower wont engage

One other thing I forgot... Spring #25 in the schematics... where does the other side hook on to? It's not shown in the diagram, only the 1 side.

It sounds like your park brake is on, or it thinks that it is on. Deere doesn't feel that the deck should engage with the brake on for whatever reason. That number is a primary deck belt, so off the engine pulley to the stacked deck pulley.
