John Deere X530
I own a used John Deere X530 with a 54" mower deck. I notice that if I try to engage the mower deck after just having started the JD, it will cause the engine to cut off. If I allow the engine to warm up a couple of minutes, then it will slow the engine until it fully engages the PTO, then come back up to RPM. Does anyone else experience this problem? Do I just need to allow the engine to warm up a bit first? Or is there something else that I need to look into? In advance, thank you for your help.

Yes, it happens to me, but not always. A new belt seems to make it worse as it grabs pretty hard and fast

My Ferris mower deck is hard to start the first time after setting for a while. I guess it is the stiff grease in the bearings that causes that. It takes a bit more throttle to get it started without stalling the engine. After running for a while, I can engage it with the engine at idle with no problem.
