JD X300 wont turn over!!

Was mowing fine, then acted like the deck was stopped up, choked down, turned off deck, raised deck, now starter just clicks, battery at full charge,fuses good!! Tried bypassing solenoid, Nodda

It really depends on what solenoid you have as an X300 can have the solenoid piggy backed on the starter or separate plus what you jumped. It could be that the the engine seized or maybe the starter gear is caught in the ring gear. Try rocking the screen on top of the flywheel back and forth. That may allow the starter gear to drop out of flywheel. Hopefully you have oil in it.

Solenoid separate , just put th cable to the terminal that leads to the starter, Had plenty of fresh oil 75 ft before it quit, checked just B4 I started!! Cant get hold of that screen, Thought of that!! Could th electric clutch B stuck??

Can you get under the mower and possibly get a socket on the crankshaft and get the engine to rotate a bit that way? That will let you know if the engine is free and whether your electric clutch is stuck.

OK , heres what happened! I removed the flywheel screen, put a17mm socket on the end of the crank! It turned clockwise about a turn & a half & stopped like it hit a piston stop!! Turned it counter clockwise about th same distance, same thing happened!! Climbed upon th seat, Thought Well lets just see, Turned th switch it spun & sounded like a single clang!!put th socket back on it it turned like it was spose ta!! Had to of been the clutch!! I put it back together, it started & mowed 3/4 of an acre like nothin waswrong!!
