Looking to make my recently purchased "used" JD mower deck and front blade look a little less used, I stopped by the local dealer and picked up some JD Yellow touch up paint.
The spray cans were $6.50 each. I figured it would take at least two cans, maybe three to cover the deck with two coats and another can or two for two coats on the blade. However, based on the high price, I opted to just get two cans for now.
It was the worst spray paint I have ever used!
It seemed like there was way too much solvent and not nearly enough pigment/sticky stuff. If came out of the can in puddles, not a nice cloud.
It wasn't quite the recommended 75 degrees in my shop, but I did have the heat cranked up above 60 as I normally do when I paint. The metal being painted had been at that temp for several hours before starting.
Anybody have bad experience with JD touch-up spray cans?
Is there a JD Yellow Rustoleum or other brand name of paint that I could use instead that would be cheaper and work better?
Any other suggestions?
