That's in the works for 1 make of tractor.. to have a more consumer/farmer friendly stores..

I think the japanese have better tire making facilities i seen info on one in suko?? japan i think everything was computer controled the quality was about 10% higher than the us on specs and stuff so i'm kinda partial to the high techness of the way they manufacture tires. Most modern intra-structure is based off japanese techniques.

"I like these one liners the" Green Hornets"and now your comments. MLOA
I am going to have to stencil the Green Hornet on my JD 4400. "

Me too, what fun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. When I was a kid I used to like to kick the nest and run, I suppose that is why in high school I was the only "white" boy on the 440 relay. I ran like a 9.87 (100yrd--hey--it's been a while so I don't remember the actual times) for the hundred. Yep, running from hornets was good for me, shoot fire, I bet it still is /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif even Green Hornets /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. I need some exercise, kinda getting a bit chubby here /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.
The Titan tires--my main beef with them is they are not round but sort oblong and lumpy /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
Hey, y'all fellers all have a great Christmas and Holiday season, here and there and every where, even in Canada /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. J

I love to mess with the yellow jackets and hornets even at my 46 yrs of age,it is hillarious when I am bushhogging and the dogs run through the nests, not as funny when I find them 1st. I have dogs that fight the stupid bees as they are stinging them.

You can't do away with dealers. That's silly. We don't need a bunch of Walmart John Deere stores. You go get the Walmart crew and put them at work at a JD store. That would be a nightmare. It would take forever to get a part looked up and who would service your tractor? Actually, we do lease out combines for harvesting and last year we had a bunch of them come back. I really like working at the JD dealership and I give 110% even though my position is not the greatest. Maybe we just need a change of attitude in America. People need to start working hard again.

Cat compacts ? I haven't seen those yet. Is their a web site ? I can think of better nick names for them /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I think that's terrible to do such a thing to their own dealers. The sales at Home Depot take away sales from us. Those are people we could have had buying equipment from us now we lose out and we need all the new customers we can get. I also hate to see Menards and other places carrying John Deere merchandise. I think dealers should only be able to sell those things. What do you guys think?

I just dont understand why any one would buy one of those at Home deput vs a dealer. They are the same price as the dealer and at the HD you have zero chance of getting any help or service from them. I am not knocking HD. I buy my share of stuff from them but I would definitely NOT buy a JD from them. Dave

One time HD quoted a customer a lower price on a rear bagger than we could and to make matters worse the salesman said we did not have any in and she needed it right away.

Go to the AGCO home page, they are actually known as the "Challenger series" distributed through Caterpillar.
The AGCO page has a link to them.

I bought a JD lawn mower this past summer at my JD dealer and I asked the salesman about the Home Depot selling JD lawn mowers. He told me that any warranty work would have to be honored at the JD dealer, and I cannot remember if he said that the JD dealer would get a % of the JD lawn mowers sold through HD. I learned one thing when I bought my riding mower and that is all JD riding mowers have the SAME 2 year warranty on parts and labor that the JD tractors have,I thought that was pretty good.

""I'd rather have jap tires myself""

What do you think all the Firestone tires were that caused all the deaths and wrecks on the Fords???

As far as JD they already do everything that tres crow said. You can lease any equipment you want from them already. As far as parts go JD has the best parts line in the entire world. That is not from me that is from everybody in the business. You need a part for just about anything it is usually there that day or at the latest the following morning at 8am. You can order online, you can look at the schematics online, models, etc. You can pull up the catalogs or anything. There is nothing out there that even comes close to the deere parts line or the online services that deere provides. Not even auto mfg. have the level of online service that deere does. Deere has excellent loans, they have their own credit card for repairs, parts, etc. There isn't another tractor mfg. out there that matches it.

As far as service goes I will say you are right there. I do agree that deere needs to step up it's service and customer service as a whole. I have run into some great dealerships that go above and beyond but also some that still have the old mentality.

Deere corporate is changing. They offer very valuable invoice pricing to many corporations and the employees of that can take advantage as well.

As far as keeping up Deere is constantly on the cutting edge. Could they do more? Probably but what company couldn't.

The Kubota dealer in our area is what the deere dealer is in your area. They are rude, arrogant, have nothing in stock, and wouldn't give you a deal if you were their mother.

It's one thing to stir things up with fact but quite another when you stir things up with lies.

I worked for ford during the firestone incident they were made in the USA.. i forget the facility. Up in indiana or ohio one the main plant.

And i had a set of goodyears seperate about 2 weeks after i bought them aquatread II on my car so go figure. The only good make is a jap or euro.. Heck i'd take chinese or russian over some of our products.

/ JD & Titan Tires #37
Yes but Japan owns the company. The tires were mfg and sold according to their specs. They were the ones responsible for the cost cutting measures that led to the failures.

One thing to remember about Home depot selling JD 100series lawn tractors is, the local JD dealer gets all the warrinty, and repair work for that tractor. I think one of the reasons in Deeres mind for selling entry level lawn tractors at HD is to get people into a deere tractor in the first place. When that customer buys his or hers first deere and they like it, maybe next time they will want a JD with some more options for instance a 200series, and for that they will have to come to a dealership to buy. See here you get a customer that might otherwise not ever step foot into a JD dealer. This is what I think deere was thinking when they decided to do the HD deal.

yes.. it was.. and it worked.. over 900K will be in circulation at end of year.. making JD the #3 largest manufacture of lawn mowers. Cut into sears and MTD sales..

Ah, but when those things wont last over 5 years why are they going to want another Deere when their last one was crap? I know some people on this site have had good luck with the L100s but I have seen a couple in for repair already. We sold one to a customer and he came in to pick up his snowblower and I asked him how is L110 was doing. He said they had to replace the transmission at 7 hours. Might as well have bought a Murray and saved some money. I guess the Deere's are a little nicer than those though.
