What are you calling a low spot? A ditch? Not trying to be funny but my wheels are turning..
I can drive my Chevy Cobalt through my ditches, no rocks , stumps or trees in the way, just a nice smooth ditch.
I thought the mowing deck on the 2520 was a "Float Deck". I think I would pull up on the mowing deck with the deck in the down (mowing position and the engine off) and see if the deck had upward movement. If no upward movement was detected I would find out why. Even ground contact decks have upward movement this is what enables a mowing deck to follow the terrain. The anti scalp wheels are for the unexpected uneven high spots in the yard encountered by the deck when mowing. For the weight of the tractor to be transfered to the mowing deck when an uneven or high spot is encountered indicates to me the mowing deck is in a "Locked" position. Until you identify the problem that is locking the deck in the down position you will shear the pins and will eventually destroy the deck. The deck has to have movement.
Thanks for informing me of this, I do not remember anybody else saying the deck had to go up and down. I did call the service manager about this and he said it should float, talked to him about putting it in the float circuit of the scv control he said it will be OK. We have mowed only once but it does move up and down now. Hopefully that takes care of the problem.
Now you are telling us the pins are not falling out, but shearing off. To be honest, this sounds like a "serial poster". Someone who does not even have the equipment but gets enjoyment of bad mouthing a brand or service.
I thought the pins were falling out, the dealer also was under the same impression, only when the JD rep called and we talked about the problems did that possibility come up.
If you even own the tractor, I think you are lucky the Corporate Deere Rep did not tell you to go pound sand. Sounds more and more like you ABUSED the crap out of it and now want to bad mouth the brand. I think the truth is told every time you post. Deere is a great brand and the service you got proved it.
Yes we own the tractor its paid for. It has not been abused the only damage was the few pieces of wood that rolled over the bucket and hit the hood. The JD rep and I had a very nice talk, it lasted over an hour. My warranty was "OFFICIALLY VOIDED" when we first mowed, the FEL was not supposed to be mounted while the mower was being used. That is directly from him not the dealer. JD is still covering the tractor under warranty, if it was abused would they continue to do that........NO they would not.
Our other mower is a Ford LGT145 that was made in the Early 70's, yes it only lasted about 35 years. It still runs good, has the original tires but the deck is rusted out. We still use it to push snow.
Any one who is new to this "saga" read previous posts.

Yes call it a saga if you want, but if you were in my position, paid 18K for a tractor-mower and it kept falling apart wouldn't you be upset?????
This offer still stands, if anybody else is interested you are welcome to.
