Tractor
John Deere Sabre 1742 17hp
Starts & runs properly until you let the Clutch/Brake pedal out and then it stops immediatley.
(rather like a kill switch has been enacted)
Has anyone had this happen ? Any ideas ?
Thanks

First, "Welcome to the forum".:)

So Dan, have you checked the various interlocks for continuity? It may be as simple as a loose connection on a switch. I would check the seat switch to make sure it is working, if it doesn't make contact thru it to indicate operator is in the seat it will stop the tractor. These seat switches do go bad quite often.

Thanks Steve,
I'll check those out this weekend, I'm hoping it's something simple like that.

Thanks Steve - That did the trick ! It was a faulty kill switch under the seat !
Simple, just the kind of repair I like !
Thanks again,
Dan
