saw some pics of what happened when a friends fil got rear ended moving his tractor an round baler to another field on the road.t-bird hitt the baler an flipped it on its side in the road.an messed up the tractors pto shaft.car didnt look to good afterwards.people need to pay attention to their driving.

Farm machinery to this day after a life time on or around farming country can still catch me off guard when coming up on it. It is like when riding motorcycles, the brain just does not expect something going 8 MPH to be in front of you. Signage and lighting is more critical today than ever even when the equipment has the right to be in the road. Unlike 50 years ago few understand what it is like to move today's farm equipment down the highway.

I can see how the PTO would be at risk of damage in a rear impact in a case like this.
