Does anyone out there know if retirees from JD get any price breaks on equipment?

Not per se, but all John Deere employees qualify for a rebate from Deere on certain lawn equipment. After they purchase the equipment from a dealer, they can send Deere the paperwork, and Deere will send them a rebate check. The deal is independent of the dealer. Good, used trade-ins are often available around any John Deere town, i.e. Waterloo, IA; Dubuque, IA; Moline, IL. The list now includes the gators, and the 4100's. At one time it included attachments too (blades, brooms, blowers) but now only the lawn & garden tractors, incl. walk behinds and some hand powered equipment. Retirees are included as well as their spouse as long as one is alive. There are limitations to the numbers each JD person can purchase in a certain time period.
