JD prices over the last 2 years

I am looking to by a 2305 (FEL, BH, 62" MMM) - my brother-in-law bought this combination (except with 54" MMM) two years ago for roughly $18,200. I went to another dealer this week, and I got a quote for just over $20,000 (after discounts, before taxes). Have prices gone up that much in two years? That seems a bit high to me. I haven't had a chance to get to other dealerships yet - I will do that soon - but what should I expect?

FYI, I'm in eastern NY - near Albany.

As I'm trying to price it out on the online Configurator, I get $16,808 for the tractor/loader/backhoe. In my quote, the tractor/FEL/BH combo was $18,147 (after discounts, before taxes).

Yikes is right..!! If I understand your post - the MSRP basis price from the Deere online configurator was less than the "discounted" quote from your dealer??!!?

That's some pretty bad math! (If my math is correct - your dealer is quoting you 8% ABOVE MSRP.)

Don't walk --- RUN to the next dealer --- and don't go back!

and Ya surely didn't really believe that JD tractors are made or even "assembled" in the USA ?
A (thin) coat of green paint does not get automatic exemptions for what it covers from the world economic reality.

The online configurator does not add in roll on/roll off or set up charges for tractor and each implement. The dealer does.

Ahhh, not everything. Not my social security benefits or company pension. That hope and change stuff is working in reverse for some. The letter from social security adm said no increase this year (first ever) because of zero cost of living increase. Someone isn't being honest.

I'd shop around at other John Deere dealers who are more anxious for business.

Are you saying John Deere has no factories here and assembles nothing in the USA?

My "Built in the USA" 5425 has a front axle that has an ID plate that says "Made in China". The engine was built in Mexico. The loader was made in Canada. Tires probably China or S. Korea. Who knows where most of the component parts that make up the rest of the major sub-assemblies came from.

audioart, I just bought a the 2305 with 200cx loader and 54"mmm for total of $14275, tax included! Cazenovia Equipment is dealer and they have branches all over NY. I'm in Central NY. It's a great tractor by the way
