JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

I thought that this was gone over before, but I haven't had any success searching the forums on this one... (if this has already been discussed can someone point me to the right thread?)

Is the JD "Quik-Change" loader attachment system compatible with industry-standard skid-steer attachments or not? (ala NH loaders)

If not does anyone make a commerical adapter?

If I'm understanding this correctly, conceptually it's the same thing - but I can't find any info on specifically how the "interface" works or dimensional data of the two (?) systems.

Thanks,
Tim

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

The 110 TLB have SSL style Q-T but I think the rest of CUT
have Deere own style (not interchangable).
Kasco make a SSL Q-T that goes on loader pins for most loaders.

I don't know about an adapter.

That is why I got a GB loader, skid steer compatable. by now I would think somone makes a adapter.

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

Are there any advantages to the Deere setup over the skid steer?

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

The reason I got the skid steer set up is the 4000lb pallet forks cost me $600 instead of $1000.
I personal like the skid steer type. if it is strong enough for a SS then my 4400 will never bend them.

Here is the converter plate I used to mount Skid Steer attachments to my JD - About $500 - Made by ATI. So far I have a Fork lift from King Kutter - A blank plate is available from Bobcat for about $75 - With the plate you can mount anything you can come up with. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

cwave,

How hard is it to switch back and forth between the adapter and a "factory" attachement i.e. bucket? If that's a quick switch sounds like an all-around winner.

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

Easy as opening a computer case - Drop your JD loader bucket - hang the ATI converter on the loader arms and lock in with the lynch pins (same one's used on the bucket). Go pick up your Skid steer attachment and lift off the ground - Push down on the two lever handles you in see in the ATI attachment above - (line up the holes please!!!) - be on your way. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

The drawback to this system is:

another set of connections between your loader and the skid steer attachment

Weight of ATI attachment piece

Your skid steer attachment is about 3 inches out further from the front of tractor

Available for most brands of tractors - I bought mine thru local Bobcat - shop around for price.

Re: JD Loader \"Quik-Change\" vs. skid-steer?

Anyone price a Kasco adapter, it might cost about same as the
Ati adapter but eleminates on link.
Might be able to sell old bucket and go to all SSL attachments.

I think I remember Spencer having some set up on his New Holland that allowed him to even use 3PH attachments on the front of his tractor. You might ask him what he used. I think the Kasko unit was part of it.

I have both a Kasco Unihitch (skid steer type adapter) and a Kasco Switch-Hitch (allows 3-point equipment to be hooked up). I have many previous threads that most of you have already seen. Here are some links for those who have recently joined TBN.
