JD 990 the first 50 hours

the dealer has picked up my 990 just the other day , along with doing the 50 hour maintance , they will be adding wheel wieghts , and I asked to have a valve added for out the back for future use... Dealer can and got the tractor , before I could get there to be around for them ,. I called them later that day and was told that the 990's cann't have a valve added to them and that JD makes a hose kit that mounts to the rear and then is nsaked up to the quick connects for the FEL , was told that you remove curl and dump hoses to FEL to use ..........
I did not get a chance to ask if this means the 990's can not use a backhoe due to no place to put a power beyond valve ?
Or am I just more confused than normal ........lol

Bill, according to the JD web-site (in the configurator) the 990 takes the 8B backhoe. This will require the BM18010 power beyond kit. My understanding is the power beyond is only a source of hydraulic flow, not a valve. All of the backhoe valving is contained within the backhoe itself. Bill, my understanding is that the 990 is the same tractor as the older 970 made for JD by Yanmar. The 990, however, has a bit more horsepower. My 970 has a Bradco 480 hoe that mounts up to the tractor with the JD 8B backhoe mounting kit. This means that all the mounting hardware is JD while the hoe alone is Bradco. Hope this helps.
