Taking the tractor apart is turning out to be easier that finding the rights parts! I have a dual clutch in this one, and finding that clutch plate that goes inside of the clutch sandwich gizmo is a trick. It is looking like Southern Global may have it, but I have been striking out elsewhere. Once I get everything found and sorted I will post what I managed to come up with here....

Okay...I found both clutch plates and throw out bearing for the dual stage clutch in my JD 850 with shipping at just under $250 at Southern Global Tractor. They were the only place that I found with all three parts for the dual stage, and I was pleased to find that the person on the other end of the phone was very capable of getting the right parts sorted out with me. They did not have the bushing that goes into the carriage assembly for the throw out bearing, and mine is worn pretty badly. The JD number for that part is CH-13095. Luckily a search of Ebay turned up a new one in an opened box for $25 with $4 shipping. So now I await the deliveries. By the way, JD did list all of these parts as available and their total for them was nearly $1050. Wow is all I'm going to say.

For this dual stage clutch I see that there is a special tool made for adjusting the PTO assembly "clutch fingers." That tool, JDG-52, is just a special measuring tool that looks like a carpenter's square with two right angles instead of one. Luckily I see that someone here on the Forum has posted a diagram of it with measurments, so I am going to whip one out of metal, or maybe even stiff cardboard...the link to that post is here:Drawing & Measurements for JD Clutch Adjustment Tool - JDG-52

I hope I can get the adjustments all dialed in correctly--I have the shop manual, so the whole process is detailed there. So that's the update, and I hope to be running again by next week sometime....

A great post with plenty of good info. Even the found tool diagram. I'll have to save it as well since these Yanmars use it as well. The JD1050 is the YM4300.

The TM1192 covers JD850, JD900HC, JD950, JD1050, YM2500, most of YM2610, and YM4300.

Fredricks may have the bushing you found on eBay.

Glad you are using the Yanmar suppliers. I mention to people how the JD parts are pricey. You can literally see why.

Hey Bmaverick--on that bushing...I thought I had found it at Fredericks, but when we cross referenced the JD number we discovered that the type they have (and they had 50 in stock, so I was doing a happy dance there for a sec) was for the single stage clutch and they did not have the right one for the dual stage. I had to search the JD number for the dual stage one, CH-13095, online to come up with it.

And yes, it super duper pays to check pricing. I've only had one issue with substandard parts over the years, and I've ordered a lot of stuff. I got a front stub axle one time that had been made in India and that sucker sheared right off when I installed it. The supply house replaced it right away, and I put that second one on and it sheared right off just driving down the driveway test driving it! Unreal! So I got a refund, went to another supplier and got a Chinese made one and it has been doing fine for a year now. I'm going to be careful not to get the Indian stuff in the future after that experience!

I remember when stuff from Taiwan was the worst, then Chinese stuff took over while stuff from Taiwan improved a great deal. Now most Chinese stuff I am forced to buy is mostly while metal parts from India are terrible. The stuff I'm talking about is mostly metal stuff for use in machine shops and much of the stuff is only available from Asian countries. I find it interesting how the quality has improved from one nation to the next. However, the very worst metal parts I have ever seen have been from India. Just terrible quality. No surprise either after watching videos of men pouring cast iron wearing only sandals for footwear, no gloves, and no eye protection. It seems like nobody is willing to spend even a tiny amount for safety and worker protection, so no wonder the quality of the metal is crap.

Grand father worked At a steel mill, Fayette Co. WV. is the city I believe. There for Decades. Everybody wanted his Job. Crane Operator. Eventually AC. even before he retired! LOL..
Went through the Vn. Tractors in Ga. big time back in the Day! Terrible on parts. Nice paint jobs though!
How I found my All Org. YM2000. Kicking tires when I found it in 2008. Fredricks supplied dealer. Seat and Muffler was replaced that was about it! Knew where he was across from the Atl. motor Speedway! Many conversations come up at that trac. about Yanmar and the Good ole boy days!. Yanmar roll over was often Trust me!! Snowed in the Mothers motor coach etc.. Oh some conversations was interesting Trust Me!! 1 to the day from the comments she made.:cautious:
Referb. Ym2500 from Spalding and BH. also in 2009! It was Nice and everything work really well! The Yrs. they kept it or may still have it I only had to Go straighten something out Once or twice. New Operator and Hyd. line at the pump. Looked as though somebody left the PTO. lock on. knob just under the seat. It was leaking at the Hyd. line O-ring on the pump. Tightened it up and it quit. Retired Catholic Priests Property. Actually, they was really cool!!
I ordered from Hoye and looked to be the same filter also. I was going through them so it really didn't matter. Super heavy after the first Oil changes which was kind of expected knowing what I was dealing with. Finally used the last one and seen the Fram Orange in a CL add from the same Dealer. Used The Fram for Yrs. but noticed they was out of inventory often so I just use NAPA. No complaints with either of them. I do like the Fram with the Grip to tighten it up though. I dented the El. cheapo's hand tightening it. L. hand even........ in the 900tach hrs I put on it. My lawn mower so I've cut a lot of grass with it over the Yrs.. Craftsman Garden tractor was what I replaced that was worn beyond repair in 4yrs.. The Org. Yanmar 16 and no sign of it not lasting that much longer to the day!;)
My 63 Ford has a 2 stage I had to replace it. Dealer replaced Clutch Pressure plate and repaired shifter 1350.00 Tow truck/Parts and it's nice.!!

FedEx got the clutch plates and throw out bearing here today, a day ahead of schedule...wow! Still waiting on the bushing for the throwout bearing carrier that I had to order on Ebay, but I plan to dive into setting the clutch plate into the assemble and doing all of the adjustments. I am going to cut out that adjustment tool from the diagram mentioned above and see how it goes....

I just noticed your note--sorry for the delayed respose. I am in Floyd, VA. Wow, you have three of them? Are they all running or some for parts?
