Not starting, a couple of clicks at the starter...now, not even that.

I've checked everything I know of...Bat, fuses, safety switches, bat wires and terminals, pto, in neutral etc. I've got lights and flashers.

I get nearly 14volts at the Bat and same at the starter (the Bat is near new). When I try to start it the volts at the starter drop to 2.

I get 1.10 volts at the solenoid white wire terminal, drops to 1volt when I try and start.

Before I pull the starter is there something I am missing?

Do those voltages clearly indicate a bad starter or solenoid, or both?

Do you take your bad starter to a repair shop for a rebuild or do they not work on these?

OK I thought I'd checked everything. The positive cable was good enough to show a proper voltage at the starter except when I tried to start it.

I decided to jump it with another Bat. (prob should have done that earlier) and the starter turned it over as usual.

Replaced the positive Bat cable and it now starts as usual.
