JD 790 opinion

<font color="black"> </font> Well, after several weeks of pondering here's what I did... brand new JD 790 4x4 w/loaded R4 tires, power beyond kit, work light kit, 300 loader w/hd bucket and replaceble edge, LX5 rotary cutter w/ chains and slip clutch, and a RD-72 finish mower... $18,765 plus tax. Did I get taken to the cleaners?

Congrats on the 790 purchase, I just purchased one myself, about a month ago. What was the base price on the tractor? I got my dealer down to $16,100, I think, pre-tax, on the tractor MFWD, 60" box blade, 419 loader, and LX5 cutter. So not sure how that compares to what you purchased. I wanted to keep my total purchase under $17K, as the CFO was getting a little anxious over the escalating cost estimates I kept bringing home!

You don't say where you live, and tractor prices do seem to be somewhat dependent upon location...

Other then probably going aftermarket for the cutter and finishing mower (Deere is pretty high, IMHO), I think you deal is not great, but you didn't get taken to the cleaners
