Have a JD 755 tractor that the mid mount mower lift cylinder is leaking. Part # LVA 23449. No rebuild kit from JD is available and the end caps on the cylinder are welded on as an assembly. Is there any way of taking this unit apart to re seal it or am I forced to replace it for the rape me price of $550.00?

A good hydraulic shop can cut the end off, repack, and reweld it, be sure to take it and show them for a quote, may or may not be worth repairing it.

It is also possible said repair shop can order a cylinder in the same configuration for less money than Deere - green paint optional.
