4x4 priced nicely If I were you I'd be on that deal right now... it won't be for sale tomorrow, it'll be gone

Does anyone think the 4x4 function would be easy or hard to fix? Is it a good deal as a 2wd?

Fixing the 4WD might just be a matter of replacing the drive shaft (relatively cheap, if you can find a drive shaft), or may be very expensive (depending on why the drive shaft was pulled...the front differential might be broken).
If you just intend to finish mow, or some field mowing; 2WD might be adequate...light tilling might be doable as well.
I'd be more concerned with that home made ROPS...I surely wouldn't trust that in a rollover.
$2K isn't much money for a Deere CUT, but I think it's too much for that CUT.

Well, I've been looking at the specs and it turns out that is actually a much larger (physically) tractor than I'd like for my "toy." Thanks for the input anyway, guys! :)

I agree about the ROPS! and getting the factory ROPS is difficult at best. the 4wd is probably because of a failed u joint BUT it could also be front axle damage. it "might" be worth it depending on the hrs and if in fact everything else is sound. I would have to look at it real hard. before I would hand over any money!

yeah I did'nt read the ad well enough before I made my post.. getting the driveshaft and probably front axle will be pricey if you can find them.. someone will buy it just because they want one and don't have any more money to spend.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust the ROPS (I don't even trust the factory ones). The tractor is bigger than I thought anyway. I'm looking for something closer to a four foot wheelbase.
