I have a John Deere 5200. I take it out of 4 wheel drive when I drive on the pavement, which is only a few times a year. This last time I put it back in 4 wheel drive, the front wheels will not engage. It appears that the shaft that goes into the Drop Gear Box is turning when the leaver is moved. I assume something has happened in the drop gear box. What should I expect when I open it? Will all the hydraulic oil from the transmission come out? Any advice will be helpful.
