JD 5103 Hour Meter

Recently purchased a used 5103 and the tach works great but the hour meter does not.
Is this something easily fixed, expensive??

Is most likely the instrument panel itself but could be something else related to wiring. The panels are not too bad price wise but are still a couple of hundred, our you could just buy a gen purpose hour meter and power off keyed side of ign switch to keep track of hours for service times. Dealer won't be able to sell you an instrument panel w/ out complete s/n though.

a hr. meter is $8 on ebay I've installed one on my mill, welder,& generator to keep track for oil changes. Wire it to the key.

Looking else where apparently this not uncommon with this model tractor (and its siblings).
