JD 5045 Temp Gauge Sending Unit Location?

I noticed today that my coolant temp gauge was not indicating coolant temp even after an hour or more operation. I've read that one can troubleshoot the sending unit to determine if the sensor is faulty. I would do that but can not find the sending unit. Does anyone know exactly where the coolant temperature sending unit is located on the JD 5045E? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Depends, do you have final tier 4 engine? That one has it in the top of the block at the front, key 10 in the drawing. Pre tier 4, its in the head on the right hand side about the middle (front to back), just ahead of the intake, key 1 in the drawing
