JD 4610 vs 4600

I'm interested in a JD 46XX series HYDROSTATIC tractor.
Is it worth waiting for the 4610 instead of the 4600?

I most definitely would, especially HST. If what is being addressed here and what little info JD has put out, I would wait.

It depends on the deal you can get for the 4600 comparably equipped to a 4610. Primary difference is the electronic HST controls. Otherwise the tractors have identical performance. I bought a used (~500 hrs) 4700 HST with loader last December rather than wait for the 4710 since the deal was fair.

If you can get a good deal on a 4600, then you may want to think on getting it. The 4610 will be replacing the 4600 with the eHydro replacing the HST. The eHydro has more of a feather touch pedal control and tends to coast more before the tractor stops...you'll find a greater tendency to break. The 4600's HST tends to stop more suddenly when foot is removed from pedal, but more foot pressure is also required to move from a stop to moving position.

The "e" hydrostat on the 4x10 series is just that. Instead of the foot pedals reacting directly on the valve on the 4x00 series, the "e" hydro foot pedals actuate an electronic reostat.
