In the opening post, Bebo says he has the hydrostatic tranny..

get some good penetrating oil and spray between the linkage and the case repeatedly and work the levers they do dry out and get hard to move a little trick in and out of 4x4 is lift front wheels up with the loader and it should just drop in/out of 4x4

I have a 4320 with 1900 plus hrs and it is still difficult to shift sometimes. I rock it back and forth with the pedals to get it to change. It is a lot better that when I first got it.
