JD 4500
I have a 2001 JD 4500 that wont turn over. Yesterday everything ran just fine, I set the park break and shut it down. This morning when I turn the key nothing happens. The battery is good, it is only a week old 12.7 volts. When the key is turned to the "on" position, I can hear the start relay clicking in and out sporadically and the dash lights blink on and off for a few seconds then go dead. I have tested all relays they test good. Fuses test good. I have checked and re-checked that everything is either off or in neutral position such as PTO, reverse lever, transmission, etc. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Sounds like a loose wire. Could be hot or ground making intermittent contact.

Check ground wires on the frame.

Check cable connections to the battery. If good, then don't discount that the battery may be a bad one as it sounds like it is.

Thanks for the replies. Talked with my local service dept today. The tech had me hook up 1 lead of jumper cables to the neg post on battery and the other end to a good ground on the frame. When I turned the key to the "on" position, everything seemed normal. So its probably a bad ground. I started tracing out the wiring from the neg post on battery but didn't really find anything. Tried the start the tractor and it fired right up. So I just used it most of the day, only shut it down once and it fired right back up. I know there is still an issue as I didn't find anything today, but will continue to troubleshoot and post updates when I can.

I agree probably a loose/corroded battery cable connection.

Well it turned out to be a bad battery cable between the neg post and the frame. The old cable checks out good with an ohm meter, but must be breaking down somewhere. I installed a new cable and have had no issues. Thanks again for those of you that replied with suggestions.
