When I push the brakes on my dad's 4410 it brakes but doesn't release after you let go of the brakes. The pedals will come up but the brakes don't release. A friend of mine had a 4310 doing the same thing so he told me to get underneath the tractor with a hammer and knock the brake back. It works but that gets old like really quick. Is there a place to grease it or what really is the problem? Did any of you have a problem with the brakes on the 4310 ,4410. How can it be fixed? Thanks

I too had a 4310 with the same problem. Mine was because of salt damage.
I took off the brake linkage and springs and liberaly applied PB Blaster to the shaft going into the housing. I then moved the lever back and forth till it loosened up. Hope this will help.

Yes, the linkages get tight and the shafts going into the axle housings get grit in them or rusty. Clean and lubricate each side.
