I have never changed this oil before. The last time JD did it. I am going to try it myself. I have all the stuff to do it but have the following questions:
  • Should I drop the loader off?
  • Does the gasket need cement?
  • What did you use for all the oil to collect in. Seems like a big container is needed.
  • Any tips out there.
  • Should it be pretty warm or does it really matter?

I don't think the loader matters. I will find out.
I will see if I need cement if there is any when I take the old off.
6.8 gallons is a lot to collect in a container, but there are three times to collect: the drain, the screen and the filter. I don't know how much comes out at each task. I will find out.
The instructions say warm it up.
Tips say fill the filter half with oil. Fill to half mark on glass viewer. Let time to cool on recheck oil expands when hot

I would leave the loader on.
Not sure about gasket needing cement, my GUESS is NO.
I would have two containers. Start with the drain plug and be ready to switch containers (maybe a thumb over the drain hole and side another container in place of the first)
Warm oil flows better, less will be left behind.
The only thing I have to add to tips, operate your loader and 3pt hitch a few times then recheck oil level. Then fill to proper level. Next drive a little and recheck level.
