I finally got around to installing the replacement gage cluster for my 1998 Deere 4300 HST and when I started it up the tachometer is sweeping in reverse direction. Idle reading is about 800 rpm, but when i rev up, the needle sweeps down to the zero peg. While I wait for a reply from the seller, I thought I'd post here. Anyone experience this? Can I swap a couple pins in the connector? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sent the gauge cluster back. I purchased another one from a differed source, but it appears to be exactly the same maker as the first (made in India). This one works fine.

Sounds like the first was incorrectly wired internally.
