My 2000 JD 4300 wont crank. The other day It started right up I pulled it out of the barn and parked it. When I went to start it up to put it away it wont crank. I get a click like the fuel shut of solenoid is working and I've checked the safety switches. 14.2 volts at battery terminal and starter. Could it be in the relays?

An easy check. Check to see that the ground wire from the battery to the frame is making good contact on both ends.

It could be the relays. I prefer to expend on Oosik's suggestion, though. Remove both cables from the battery and clean battery terminals. Clean cable ends and reinstall tightening securely. If you can move the cable it's not tight. Follow ground lead to frame. Clean and tighten there as well. Try starting. If it still won't go monitor voltage at the battery while someone tries to start the tractor. The battery could be weak and only holding a surface charge.

I've experienced the same clicking many times on my JD4300. It has always been a bad battery that needed to be replaced or charged.

Hmm... 14.2 volts is more than a standard lead acid battery can deliver standing by itself. That's the number I would expect to see on the voltmenter if a charger was attached. You aren't testing the battery, you are testing the charger. Either that, or the voltmeter itself is shot.

To test the battery right, unhook it from the charger, let it set for a day, and then measure the voltage across the terminals. That will tell you whether the battery need replacing.

To find an electrical problem I go: battery, battery cables, safety switches, starter motor, fuses. That takes care of most problems.

I checked cables at the battery but not the other end of the ground. I will check that next. Its parked outside with a tarp over it, waiting on a warmer day to check it out further.

Cables are clean and tight at the battery and the battery is fairly new. I will recheck connections when I get back to it. I will also try your suggestion of check the voltage while cranking. Thanks.

The battery is fairly new but that doesn't mean it couldn't be the battery. I need to check the battery voltage now that it has set for a couple days like rScotty suggested He is correct I believe I did check the voltage while the charger was connected.
