JD 4300 brake problem

   / JD 4300 brake problem #11
I’ve found that my brakes are causing the problems. Both springs under the ROPS are missing. I don't think those 2 springs were even on the tractor when I purchased it.

I've also located a loose Bellcrank/Lever on the left side of the rear end which has a tensions spring pin in it that holds it onto the cam. I believe that there is a screw missing from inside the Bellcrank/Lever that secures it in place on the cam. I'm going to check some more with a mirror and try to find out more. The parts charts on JD Parts does not indicate how it's held in place other than the tension pin. I guess it's possible that the tension pin has broke. I'm able to slide the Bellcrank/Lever from side to side and the cam that goes into the rear end slides with it. This also indicates that i may have something broke inside the rear end.

I know this is an old thread, but we’re you able to repair it. If so what was the fix. I recently purchased a 2001 4300 doing the same thing

When you say "the same thing", what are you experiencing?
No springs found?
Problem with engine rpm in high range?

Need some help from you with problem description.
