JD 430 lawn tractor water pump

Hello all....

I'm a new member from Maryland with a question about parts for
a 1988 430 JD lawn tractor.

I just picked this item up and not sure I made a good decision on a tractor this old. It has 980 hours on it.

I've already found out that the radiator is no longer available and am wondering if a water pump is NLA, too.

My engine number is: CM3029D019930.

I don't need either part right now, but since I keep tractors a long time,
I'm wondering if I shouldn't just sell this and go with a newer JD or Kubota.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sure can't make that decision for you.
If you don't need water pump or radiator, what is the problem? Just fear that there might be one?
Need more of the story or just suggest you go with your best gut feeling.

Thanks....don't need either right now...But I'm afraid if I keep this older
tractor a while, I may be stuck with it...looking into a newer model.

Thanks....I'll keep you in mind.
I may have to hold on to this until next Spring and research
the market some.
I'm comparing the Kubotas and JD's...can't believe the prices!
I do know I'm not going to get anything with obsolete parts.

I have been half-way looking for a 430 or 455 as a project, they sure hold their value though!

Ebay is your friend. I did a quick search for "Deere 430 water pump" and got 10 hits.

remember when searching like that on eBay that there was also a 430 FARM TRACTOR too, those eBay pumps look like one for them, not lawn tractors

You could be very afraid of a 430 with that Yanmar engine. Very expensive to fix when broken. I would be more than happy to take it off your hands and ease your worries. I am over in Freeland, likely closer than MtAiry. PM me when you want to sell it.
