JD 42\" Snow Thrower for LX series

I had some options as to where to post this. I chose this one. I just priced a JD snow thrower for a 18hp gas LX series lawn tractor.

The price was over $2200. That's nearly half the price of the tractor itself.

Get serious. This is a MECHANICAL belt driven device with bicep powered engagement.

Far as I can tell this is way more than half the price of a PTO driven machine for a 3 point hitch. Do I have this right?

new 54" 3 point PTO models are available for $1,500-$1,600.

I bought a used 48" three point hitch for $550.

Try ebay for deals on a used deere blower for your lawn tractor.

I'll have to dig through some old receipts to verify, but I bought a new 42" blower like the one you mentioned around 18 months ago. I bought it with a new JD GT235. I could swear I only paid around $1200-$1300 for it. I could be wrong, but I know I got everything for around 6.5k. That included a 48" mulching deck.
It worked really well the few times I used it. I traded it for the 4110 and various attachments I have now.
