I am asking this question for a friend who is not sure if the lift arms are working properly or not. When he tries to lower them down as far as they will go, they are still about 12-16 inches off the ground. The draft control is all the way down. I know my Kubota has another control that controls how fast the arms move down and it can keep the arms from going all the way down, but I am not sure if this model has it. Does Anyone know?

There should be a knob between your heels below the seat that you just turn.

yeah, that is where mine is at on my Kubota. Just did not know if the JD's were the same.

EZ-Hitch,

I've never measured the distance from the links to the ground, but 12 or so inches sounds about right. I've got a 4520...

My lift arms will almost touch the ground. Maybe it is a Kubota thing.

Cab model or not?
I only ask because when I bought mine, while doing "pre delivery inspection" the tech noticed the lift arms wouldnt go down all the way as you describe...apparently its common for the 3pt control cable on cabbed machines to not be adjusted "just right" from the factory....they adjusted the cable and I can now pretty much touch the ground with my 3pt...
BTW, I have a 3520.....not a 4x20, but I suspect they should lower almost to the ground as well.

Did he try just lowering the side lift arms? They both can be screwed down lower. The one arm will have to be disconnected, unscrewed and reconnected. The other has a turnable handle. However, this will decrease his overall lift height.

Its not a cab model, but perhaps the cable could still be adjusted. As for adjusting the side arms, I believe he already has them as low as possible.

(JD 4115) 3 pt. flow valve handle is below the seat and centered.
